The wonderful holiday season is upon us, which means a likely ascent in our weight. I have read stories upon stories about what we need to do when enjoying holiday meals with family in order to ensure our weight stays right where we want it. We’re supposed to eat less with portion control and doContinue reading “5 Calorie Burning Moments From Thanksgiving”

Want To Run A ½ Marathon? Then Do It!
Rachel and I have been asked many times to recount our ½ marathon experience. When we finish a person will usually say, “That sounds like such a great experience. I want to run a ½ marathon someday!” I would love to respond by simply saying, “Then do it,” but I know everything is always easierContinue reading “Want To Run A ½ Marathon? Then Do It!”
Coming Down…Post 1/2 Marathon
It has been five days since we finished our first half marathon, but it still feels like it was yesterday. I can still hear the crowds cheering and the bands playing. I can close my eyes and see the finish line. Every feeling that encompassed me in the moment I crossed the line is stillContinue reading “Coming Down…Post 1/2 Marathon”
First 1/2 Marathon Experience
In the blink of an eye it was all over. Well, not really. It was more like in 13.1 miles it was over, but it was such a wonderful experience. To put it into words will never give it the full justification that running your first ½ marathon deserves. I have written and re-written thisContinue reading “First 1/2 Marathon Experience”
Run and Done!
We just finished our first San Antonio Rock n Roll 1/2 Marathon today! It was a wonderful experience. I will have a full synopsis available by Tuesday. My Finish Time: 1:58:51, which was a pace of 9:04 a mile. Rachel’s Time: 1:59:13, which was a pace of 9:06 a mile!
San Antonio Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Bound
We finished our packing for our trip to San Antonio last night, which is always an experience in itself. I am notorious for being an over-packer. For me it’s about packing for any situation that can arise and, when you live in Texas, any possible change in weather. Luckily, Rachel is a bit of anContinue reading “San Antonio Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Bound”
The Last Run
I have posted a video of the actual course we will be running. We received the video by email and it actually gave me goose bumps. I will admit that it seemed much longer than I imagined. Okay it seemed ridiculously long, but still exciting. I was born and raised in San Antonio, TX soContinue reading “The Last Run”
“Mommy, Why Does That Man Not Have A Shirt On?”
First and foremost, it is imperative to note that this entry is completely G-rated. Although I am sure most people who perused the title assume that there is a possibility I may have run in the nude yesterday for my final long run, I assure you I did no such thing. Now did I thinkContinue reading ““Mommy, Why Does That Man Not Have A Shirt On?””
Running With The Worry Monster
We are nine days away from our ½ marathon run and needless to say we are nervous. Now is the time we are asking ourselves, “Did we train enough?” It’s a valid question since it’s our first half marathon and safety is of our utmost concern. With every day that passes the awareness of ourContinue reading “Running With The Worry Monster”
Come Rain or Shine…We’re Working Out
The weather has changed in the last few days. Rain is falling across the area and temperatures have dropped drastically. These are the days that curling up on a couch and reading a book sound most enticing. It is when working out can easily become an afterthought and playing your “get out of workout free”Continue reading “Come Rain or Shine…We’re Working Out”
